Kerbal Space Program Wiki:Tasks

From Kerbal Space Program Wiki

This is a list of tasks that you can help contribute to this wiki.

This is a list of tasks that other people have requested to be completed. Feel free to add something you want to be checked/done and others can then claim those.

To avoid that multiple people work at the same time at the same task you should claim tasks by answering to them. Also answer to a task to remove your claim if you aren't working on it anymore and want others to finish the task.

Use {{task|complete/claimed/pending/|optional message}} to show the task's status.

For saving the place, delete the sequence if the task is finished, and everyone is pleased with the result!

Version 1.0 release

With version 1.0 we need to do some stuff:

UPDATING

Updating some element:

Pictures

keep the original name, just update it!

Note: The picture updating is not possible now, due to migration problems!

And a further note: is the claw docking port? NWM (talk) 06:07, 28 March 2015 (CDT)

Well it works similar to one but the image is used where only the docking ports are listed. And to be honest I think it doesn't belong there but that is only my personal preference.
Regarding the image I'd have three suggestions:
  • Make it when the Sun is not so high so that there aren't so many shadows making the image so dark.
  • Prevent as much background as possible (my version before had only the sky as background)
  • Don't look directly at it. The difference between the two lateral docking ports (the ones in the top left) is marginal from that viewpoint. You don't really see that the lower one has the Mk2 shape.

Templates

New great projects

Cartography

Some solution needed (as a template).

  1. Insert-able high detail maps + translatable info-bars
  2. Thumbnail/full detail appearance

This project also needs: high-detail colorful biome/elevation/(resource) maps

Translation/correction

Early Versions/fr translation

This task is in progress. You can join this task at any time.

Translate this page to English and add link to Version history.

I just made and translated the page as requested, only to find the info was already included in Version history. No work is needed on Early Versions, it didn't even need to be made. Rather, Early Versions/fr needs to be combined with Version history/fr and Early Versions/fr deleted. Also, there's already Early versions, but the title isn't capitalized properly. Stuff's screwed up and I don't know how to fix it. Samuel010898a (talk) 15:15, 31 August 2017 (UTC)

Authors/editors look for native speaker correctors

Pictures needed

For .svg mages

Creating the more informative .svg version of some picture:

Make the texts correctable!

For "Orbit_Synchronization_how_to.png" - pictures by stages of the maneuver would be more preferable!

Questions - info needed

New Drag modell

Does anybody knows a reliable link about the new drag model for updating the atmosphere page?

4 Table mages

If somebody knows how to make a switch to hide some column in headers of the wings please help: make the dimensions hide-able with a {{{nodim}}} switch, and maybe an appear-able fuel capacity column can be added too!

Name change in Rockomax Mark 55 Radial Mount Liquid Engine

The name in the description changed in Rockomax Mark 55 Radial Mount Liquid Engine. Please determine in which version that was done and update the related pages (Rockomax Mark 55 Radial Mount Liquid Engine and Eumon Kerman) respectively and maybe create Eugene Kerman (or request a move of Eumon to Eugene Kerman).

Calculate version numbers

With {{Check version/ver}} and {{Check version/Rev}} it's possible to calculate version numbers now and templates like {{Infobox/Version}} could profit from it. For example getting the version after 0.23.5 one can do {{Check version/ver|{{#expr: {{Check version/Rev|0.23.5}} + 1}}}} and get 0.24. So it's possible to get the next and previous version numbers.

It only does support version numbers since 0.20.2, so both templates probably need to be extended to support prior versions. But at no point a specific revision number should be used so that is easier to change the numbers later when I miscounted and 0.20.2 wasn't the 38th revision. — xZise [talk] 07:41, 12 March 2015 (CDT)

100 Million Views!

This task is complete. Thanks for contributing! Unneeded

I would like a page for the upcoming 100 Million view mark, as it is important to the history of this website. For making a page about the 100 Million View Mark, people will understand how far and long this wiki has come. I suggest that you will put a link to this page on the Main Page.

One really isn't necessary. It would be more of a celebration for a site like Wikipedia, which seeks to inform the world, not some game wiki. Mr. Spink talkcontribs 02:16, 17 March 2016 (UTC)

VisualEditor

I don't know where else I could post this so I'm doing it here. I suggest adding the VisualEditor MediaWiki extension. That would make it easier for new users that aren't familiar with the syntax to contribute to the wiki. Perhaps that increases the contribution rate. Sn0w man (talk) 10:42, 1 September 2016 (UTC)

planets orbital and physical characteristics outdated

In version 1.2, the values of the gravitational constant and the standard gravity have been updated. As a result of this, several numbers stated on this wiki are outdated, such as orbital periods, solar days and the properties of synchronous orbits. It appears that the sidereal rotation periods of Kerbin, Mun and Ike are changed as well to keep a solar day on Kerbin exactly 21600 seconds and to keep Mun and Ike tidally locked. --Serpens Solidus (talk) 20:33, 14 October 2016 (UTC)

I'm currently working on updating the parts(list), after that I was going to do the planets. I already updated the constants for them, but the orbital periods and others were already changed in KSP 1.0. I never had the time to update then because of my internship. Olympic1 (talk)

1.2.9

1.2.9 is out for testing, you should do something on that.

Kerbal Space Program: Making History Expansion and The Kerbal Chronicles

Kerbal Space Program has a upcoming paid expansion and an upcoming magazine called Kerbal Space Program: Making History Expansion and The Kerbal Chronicles. You should make pages for them.

We also need pages for the Making History stock craft

1.8

we need the added stuff from 1.8!

I'm in the process of adding all the pages for 1.8, just haven't gotten around to it because of work. --ArnePeirs (talk) 08:50, 27 October 2019 (UTC)

KSP2

How will we add KSP2 information to this wiki (and distinguish it from original KSP info)? Or will KSP2 have a separate wiki? --14bauhr (talk) 05:59, 3 October 2021 (UTC)

@14bauhr: we've already started to add KSP2 information here. This wiki project is healty, so let's feed it! --Sinucep (talk) 11:24, 4 March 2023 (UTC)

Breaking Ground parts
