利用0.18.4中默认部件组成的一枚三级火箭

组件Kerbal 太空计划中组装各种火箭和航天飞机的基本构件。总之,组件就是玩家在航天器装配大楼(Vehicle Assembly Building)航天飞机机库(Space Plane Hangar)中可以选择的各种建造元件。组件分为七大类: 指令(Pods)、推进(Propulsion)、控制(Control)、结构(Structural)、气动(Aerodynamic)、功能(Utility)和科研(Science)。完整的游戏有150个组件(截至版本0.20.0);最新的Demo(0.18.3)有25个组件

下列部件有时候被称作原版组件(vanilla parts, stock parts)默认组件(default parts),其目的是为了区分第三方的 MOD 组件。

度量单位

飞船质量以吨(t)表示,引擎推力以千牛(kN)表示。

推重比(TWR)的计算以 Kerbin 海平面为基准,以下列公式进行。该公式仅适用于液体或固体燃料火箭发动机,喷气发动机会采用一个基于飞行器自身特性而定的更复杂的公式。

其中:

T 是引擎产生的推力,单位千牛
W 是引擎位于 Kerbin 海平面的重量,单位千牛。
m 是引擎质量,单位吨。
g_{0} 是Kerbin海平面的重力加速度:9.81 m/s²。

这里的 TWR 计算数值只适用于 Kerbin 海平面。在其他地点,由于重力加速度的变化,重量也会发生相应的变化。

比冲量(比冲)通过以下公式计算。为减少测量单位带来的歧义,比冲可以以米每秒(m/s)或秒(s)来计量。在游戏中,比冲以秒(s)来表示。

其中:

I_{{sp}} 是以秒为单位的推重比.
T 是引擎的推力,单位千牛
{\dot  m}质量流率,单位 Mg/s,是引擎喷出推进剂后质量随时间的变化率负数。全重和干重均以吨为单位。
{\dot  m}={\frac  {{\text{Total Mass}}-{\text{Dry Mass}}}{{\text{Burn Time}}}},[{\dot  m}]={\frac  {Mg}{s}}
g_{0}Kerbin 海平面的重力加速度:9.81 m/s²。

Kerbin 海平面重力加速度只是速度和时间单位之间的转化比例参数,即便飞船不位于 Kerbin 表面,此参数也不会变化。将比冲的量度秒(s)由转化为米每秒(m/s),只需乘以 g_{0} 即可。
