Courage is one of three indicators of kerbonauts that defines its behavior on-flight. Along with stupidity and the hidden BadS flag, it defines the facial expressions that the kerbal will have during spaceflight. When the courage flag is high, the kerbal will remain relatively calm and serious during flight. If it's low, it will get scared easily, screaming and moving in distress.
