The Elevon 5 is a control surface — a part that generates lift and deflects to alter a craft's center of lift to aid control of aerodynamic flight within an atmosphere.
It was incorporated into KSP in version 0.25 from the Spaceplane Plus mod.
Uses
The Elevon 5 is can be used for adjusting the lift of a space planes wings - especially on the swept wings - to control the pitch and roll of a space plane. It also can be used as a rudder on the tailwing for horizontal control.
