Scientist is a specialization assigned to Kerbonauts. Scientists are able to restore inoperable experiment modules while on EVA. They also convert "data" stored in the Mobile Processing Lab MPL-LG-2 into science, with higher experience level scientists working faster and up to two scientists contributing in parallel. Bob Kerman is the scientist in the original four.
Abilities
Additional abilities are unlocked as Experience is gained.
Level | Effects provided | G Tolerance |
---|---|---|
☆☆☆☆☆ | Restore and activate experiments while on EVA | 1x |
★☆☆☆☆ | Research at 5x speed in lab | 1.05x |
★★☆☆☆ | Research at 9x speed in lab | 1.1x |
★★★☆☆ | Research at 13x speed in lab | 1.15x |
★★★★☆ | Research at 17x speed in lab | 1.2x |
★★★★★ | Research at 21x speed in lab | 1.25x |
Changes
- Added G force tolerance
- Scientists no longer boost the amount of science gained from recovering experiments and provide no bonus from transmitting data (although the green text may make it look like they do).
- Scientists can now perform research in the Mobile Processing Lab. Research speed is based on level.
- Scientists can restore inoperable experiment modules.
- Initial release
