Usage
Like other landing gear parts (like the LY-10 Small Landing Gear), the LY-35 Medium Landing Gear is used as a wheel to allow planes (and other vehicles) to roll on the ground. Unlike rover wheels, landing gear do not have motors, and the vehicle must be powered some other way, such as a jet or rocket engine.
The LY-35 Medium Landing Gear is the largest landing gear that can steer.
The LY-35 works well with both the LY-10 Small Landing Gear and the LY-60 Large Landing Gear on 1.25m and Mk2 craft. When used with the LY-10, the LY-35 acts as the main gear (mounted halfway up the fuselage, typically where the wings are located), while the LY-10 acts as the nose gear (mounted on the bottom of the fuselage). When used with the LY-60, the LY-35 is instead used as the nose gear, while the LY-60 acts as the main gear.
On a Mk3 craft, the LY-35 can be used as a nose gear alongside the LY-99 Extra Large Landing Gear as the main gear.
