The Command Pod Mk1 houses the Kerbal crew during their mission. At least one is required to build any kind of rocket.

Usage

Generally placed at the top of the rocket, the aim of the game is to get your crew into space and land them safely again back on the surface of Kerbin.

You cannot create a launch-able rocket without the original command module, created after opening the VAB at this juncture; due to the fact that it creates the first stage [0]. Any command module bought after, however, can be deleted or sold. This was before .12, but in .12 and later, you can pick-a-pod.

Description

Originally built as a placeholder for a demonstration mock-up of a rocket, the Mk1 Command Pod was heralded as a far safer and more reliable option than it's predecessors by rocket scientists throughout the world. It is now commonly seen in active service.
