The F3S0 "Shrimp" Solid Fuel Booster is one of the smallest solid rocket boosters (SRBs).

Usage

Like other SRBs, the Shrimp comes as a single part integrating both engine and solid fuel, can't utilize additional fuel from tanks, and can't be throttled; the only way to change its thrust or fuel is reducing them via tweakables in the VAB.

The Shrimp provides only a small amount of thrust, and comes rather late in the tech tree (level 6), so it sees relatively little use.

However, it is 2.4 times as powerful as the Mite, and can be compared to the Flea. Though it provides less than a sixth of the Flea's thrust, the Shrimp has a much higher propellant mass ratio, burn time, and specific impulse. So it adds similar delta-V, or higher delta-V than the Flea for light payloads, for just 3/4 the cost and 58% the mass. In some applications where the Hammer would be overkill, the Shrimp may be a better booster than the Flea, and it is more usable as a cheap second stage for very lightweight probe launches.
