The TurboJet Engine is an air-breathing engine which requires fuel from FL-T fuel tanks.

Usage

The TurboJet Engine uses a fan to draw oxygen from the atmosphere rather than from an onboard tank like a rocket engine, which makes it far more fuel-efficient than any rocket motor at altitudes below twelve kilometers. However, the TurboJet's fan is problematic: fly above twelve kilometers or at low throttle and it will draw too little air, moreover, the fan itself takes time to adjust to new power settings whereas a rocket motor responds instantly to throttle input.

Description

A standard air breathing engine. This model utilizes an array of rotating fins to enable limited range thrust vectoring. This engine chokes in thick atmospheres and will only operate efficiently in the thinner air, due to its high performance ram air intakes.
