::I don't know that there is a sensible way how to handle that. The wiki software doesn't know of those language differences and for example the MediaWiki wiki has the same problem (e.g. search for Namespaces). One way would be to have a namespace for each language (e.g. De:Kerbin) but that only works for one namespace. Currently Tutorial: is not a real namespace (e.g. Talk:Tutorial:Aeris 4A mission as opposed to Tutorial talk:Aeris 4A mission) but if it were, there would be no De:Tutorial: namespace (it's not possible to have namespaces within namespaces). The question is then why Tutorial should be namespace and I personally have no good reason on the spot but it would be cleaner. Now Special:Random/Talk for example would do (although I don't know of a way of changing the link on the left to be flexible for each user) and you can set up in the search (in the version this wiki uses it's in your user settings, a newer version like Wikipedia has that in Special:Search. One problem could be that only server admins can change the namespaces, and although I'm a sysop I only have software access via the MediaWiki software and not access to MediaWiki's configuration. — xZise [talk] 14:33, 10 January 2015 (CST)

::: I see what you're saying. I guess that's one reason why Wikipedia splits each language into its own wiki. I did just realize that English speakers can click the link back to the "main" article under the title header, and there is also the language sidebar for accessing the page's counterparts in other languages, so when browsing random pages, there's only one more "hop" to make to get to a page that I can read. (That still leaves every language's results when searching, though.) --Kerbas ad astra (talk) 14:04, 11 January 2015 (CST)

Translation of categories

Just wondering, are we supposed to put translated pages in translated categories (e. g. Duna/de in Category:Celestials/de) or keep them in the original ones (e. g. Duna/de in Category:Celestials)? --Dgelessus (talk) 04:37, 25 May 2013 (CDT)

They should be added into their “translated” categories. — xZise [talk] 08:56, 25 May 2013 (CDT)

Filtering pages by language

Is there a way to filter special pages by language? — Preceding unsigned comment added by QuadFastKerman (talkcontribs) 20:41, 6 April 2014‎

As far as I know there is no sensible way to filter for pages in a specific language. At least that I know of. What kind of filter do you talk about? — xZise [talk] 16:51, 6 April 2014 (CDT)

Kind of related, but it would be really nice if users could set a preferred language that Random page would respect -- as it is, I will most likely land on a page which I cannot read, which doesn't do me any good. --Kerbas ad astra (talk) 10:43, 10 January 2015 (CST)

Would definitely agree on this. All the pages are together which is annoying, even in searches.--Bashir 203 (talk) 12:14, 10 January 2015 (CST)
I don't know that there is a sensible way how to handle that.
I see what you're saying.
