A prominent feature of the Launch Pad is the launch tower. It currently serves no purpose but can pose a hazard to very wide launch vehicles. A collision with the platform on the launch tower during lift-off can destroy radial boosters and leave a launch vehicle unbalanced or uncontrollable. This problem can be overcome by moving your rocket far to one side in the [[Vehicle Assembly Building]] prior to launch.
