The Mk2-R Radial-Mount Parachute is a parachute which is placed on the side of a rocket instead of the tip like most other parachutes.

Usage

This parachute behaves exactly like the Mk16 Parachute, but has 50% more mass. Because KSP gives higher drag to objects with higher mass, this parachute is more efficient. On the other hand the Mk16-XL Parachute has twice as much mass as the Mk2-R generating even higher drag.

Don't forget that parachute's efficiency depends of atmospheric density, so it won't work or even deploy in vacuum, such as a Munar landing.

Product description

A parachute comparable to the Mk16-XL chute, but which is placed radially instead of attached on top of something.
