The PPD-10 Hitchhiker Storage Container (also HSC) is a crew container and can be manned with 4 Kerbals just like a Command module, but it doesn't provide any command module functionality, which means that another manned command pod or a probe core is required to control the vessel.

Usage

The Hitchhiker Storage Container is empty by default, but can be filled from within the assembly building using the crew tab.

The main uses of storage containers are:

  • Crew quarters aboard space stations
  • Rescuing stranded Kerbonauts and bringing them home
  • Getting a large number of Kerbonauts to another moon or planet

Description

The HSC was an invention of necessity - how do we store 4 Kerbals on-orbit without any real provisions for return? Who needed this remains a mystery, as do his motives.
