[[File:Cupola panorama.jpg|thumb|left|Inside panorama view on [[Kerbin]]]] The Cupola Module's main purpose is to provide a good outside view from space stations or bases. It is very heavy (even heavier than the three-Kerbal [[Mk1-2 Command Pod]]) and also fragile, making it a poor choice for lighter rockets. It does have a pretty good rotary power and energy capacity, but these can be acquired by other, less mass-intense means.

As of now, the PPD-12 is best used in:

* Very heavy crafts where a heavy command module won't significantly affect the craft's performance.

* Anything that needs a large amount of torque to turn.

* Crafts with too many parts, where it can replace a few RCS thruster ports and battery packs.

To put things as simple as simple can be, the PPD-12 should be incorporated in heavy spacecraft with a bit too many parts, insufficient RCS fuel storage capacity and one or two electrically operated instruments which rarely need to be used, but require lots of power to be used.

The PPD-12 Cupola Module is a Command Module housing one Kerbal crew member during its mission. It is inspired by the Cupola module of the International Space Station.

Usage

Inside panorama view on Kerbin

The Cupola Module's main purpose is to provide a good outside view from space stations or bases. It is heavier and larger than the other command pods and cockpits which have a crew capacity of one, while still being lighter than parts with higher crew capacities. It is also quite fragile, has higher drag than most other parts, and has a relatively high energy capacity.

Product description

The PPD-12 was developed to provide a high visibility control room for orbital stations, and a place for thoughtful Kerbals to contemplate the beauty of the cosmos.

Trivia

  • The PPD-12 is one of the few parts in Kerbal Space Program that is covered in multi-layer insulation. (must be tested in-game)
  • There is a photo of two Kerbonauts on the right side of the cockpit.
  • A few sticky notes can be found as well:
Left the emergency slide rule in the bottom right cabinet.
B.K.
P.S. I ate all the snacks

On the roll indicator

Stop using bits of metal as fuses
YOU HAVE SPARES!

On the fuse box

  • The initials B.K. on the first sticky note is most likely referring to Bill or Bob Kerman
