The Radial Holding Tank is an storage tank for ore. It is the smaller radially attachable cousin of the Small Holding Tank. This tank can hold 75 units of ore, and as with every ore tank, it is empty by default in the editor. If desired, it can also be filled to the wanted amount inside the editor. These ore tanks are essential parts of the resource refining systems, as without them, drills would have nowhere to store harvested materials.

Usage

Using the previously mentioned systems for mining, using a drill on the surface of an object will collect ore, if there is any ore present. As long as the drill is operational, it will automatically fill the holding tank, as long as it is properly connected to the ship (via docking, direct connection in the editor, or fuel line connection.) When empty, or chosen to be unfilled before launch, or completely empty, it will have a weight of 0.125 tons.

When completely filled with ore, the Small Holding Tank will have a mass of 0.875 tons, as each unit of ore weighs 10 kg/unit.

As the impact tolerance is relatively low for this tank (compared to other impact tolerances in the game), special consideration may be needed. It should not be expected to survive re-entry forces, or any landing that is faster than 7 m/s. Ideally, avoid any direct impact with this tank.

However, its dedicated usage as a radial part means that it performs much better stress-wise when mounted on a craft's sides than other ore tanks. Out of all the tanks, this makes it the best choice to use as a flotation device/ballast tank on boat- or submarine-like crafts.
