The Shock Cone Intake is an air intake for jet engines. It currently has the largest intake area, with 20% more area than than the Ram Air Intake, and 50% more than the Circular Intake. Its larger area induces more drag (when toggled “Open”), but improves upon the Ram Air Intake's ability to collect intake air at the highest reaches of an oxygenated atmosphere. At 0.024 tonnes empty, the shock cone is proportionally heavier than either, partially offsetting this advantage.

The Shock Cone Intake is an air intake for jet engines. Unlike other air intakes it does not lose intake efficiency with increasing mach speed making it uniquely well suited for high-supersonic jet engines. It also has a large intake area which allows it to provide sufficient air for approximately 4 R.A.P.I.E.R engines. These advantages come at the cost of being the heaviest and most expensive air intake.
