:That sounds logical. I extracted the content from [http://wiki.kerbalspaceprogram.com/w/index.php?title=Inland_Kerbal_Space_Center&diff=22870&oldid=20452 Inland Kerbal Space Center]. As the Inland KSC was named second KSC there, it was added as thrid KSC, so the KSC part stuck. I move that this page be renamed from “Insular Airfield” to “Old Airfield” for the following reasons:
 +
*“Insular” is no better at describing the airfield than is “Old” as it is both on an island and clearly in disrepair.
 +
*In-game, the name the developers gave this location is verified to be “Old Airfield” but nowhere do they use the word “insular”.
 +
It seems that the current name is peculiar to this wiki and is the product of accident rather than research. Given that the names tie on descriptiveness but only one has claim to being the official name, “Old Airfield” is the better name.

The links used as citation all appear to be broken.  I was wondering what the best way to add more sources would be, given that they are currently listed as citations.  Example: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vmXTOMrD8jQ [Working Old Airfield Video<nowiki>]</nowiki>] [[User:Xerxesbeat|Xerxesbeat]] ([[User talk:Xerxesbeat|talk]]) 14:11, 19 March 2015 (CDT)

Location Name

I find the title of this article (Insular Kerbal Space Center) rather misleading. With the present facilities it is definitely closer to an airport than a space center. I propose to rename the article to "Insular airport", unless there is some better or official title for it. --CookieCrunch (talk) 15:28, 16 August 2013 (CDT)

That sounds logical. I extracted the content from Inland Kerbal Space Center. As the Inland KSC was named second KSC there, it was added as thrid KSC, so the KSC part stuck. If nobody has a better suggestion, or a reason why not to rename, I can do it. — xZise [talk] 16:47, 16 August 2013 (CDT)

Old Airfield

KSP reports "collided into Old Airfield". And Mitster Kerman died. Meh.

I move that this page be renamed from “Insular Airfield” to “Old Airfield” for the following reasons:

  • “Insular” is no better at describing the airfield than is “Old” as it is both on an island and clearly in disrepair.
  • In-game, the name the developers gave this location is verified to be “Old Airfield” but nowhere do they use the word “insular”.

It seems that the current name is peculiar to this wiki and is the product of accident rather than research. Given that the names tie on descriptiveness but only one has claim to being the official name, “Old Airfield” is the better name. --Brendan (talk) 06:14, 9 July 2014 (CDT)

In this case instead of moving request why not modified in the text "isnular airfied or old airfield". In the game officially there is no Kerbol too. Do you wanna move it too? Have you ever heard of linking system? Your "Science" maneuver already killed about a dozens of links today! It is even not tutorial! Tutorial = step 1, step 2, ... NWM (talk) 11:14, 9 July 2014 (CDT)
While there is the word "sun" already in our everyday language which would confuse that, Old Airfield seems reasonable. There could even be a redirect which wouldn't require fixing the old links (although they might be updated someday). Also there is {{Move}} to mark that page to be moved.
I'm in favour moving the page, you only need to fix Insular Kerbal Space Center (and it's talk page) because it is already redirecting and MediaWiki doesn't support multiple redirects.
I'm not talking about the changes in Science yet because I haven't looked over them yet (although I wasn't fond of the previous system). — xZise [talk] 11:53, 9 July 2014 (CDT)
I'll grind through fixing any links that need to be fixed. Just point the way. --Brendan (talk) 12:04, 9 July 2014 (CDT)
As I said, fixing the links is not a show move stopper, but I won't stand in the way if you are changing them. In fact old airport is already redirecting to this page, so in theory you could update the links already. And please don't move the content manually, it's easier and better for the version history if a sysop (like me) does that. — xZise [talk] 12:44, 9 July 2014 (CDT)
Brendan, do you know what the game writes on the "continental" space center? KSC! And if this insular-old airfield is renamed in 0.24 (Flight results), will you move it again? If the "old airport" simply redirects here, much less ado, and the translations remain synchronized. NWM (talk) 21:49, 9 July 2014 (CDT)
I think the decision has been made here, but to answer generally, I'm here to work on a high-quality wiki. If I can do anything to resync translation pages I've supposedly broken then please explain how on my talk page. But sarcasm isn't worth my time. About the capitalisation, I try to follow the guidelines by the English Wikipedia. And as it is named Old Airfield I would choose Old Airfield like a name and not a generic "old airfield". — xZise [talk] 16:24, 10 July 2014 (CDT

History (Broken Links)

The links used as citation all appear to be broken. I was wondering what the best way to add more sources would be, given that they are currently listed as citations. Example: [Working Old Airfield Video] Xerxesbeat (talk) 14:11, 19 March 2015 (CDT)

I've fixed the links but I'm not sure if we just add tons of YouTube videos as “citations”, because we can easily link to images here on the wiki. Afaik citations should be only from the developers commenting on/explaining something like in reaction wheel. — xZise [talk] 04:29, 20 March 2015 (CDT)
