This is incorrect. Landing on Minmus is much easier to land on and also extremely easy to get to. I think this tutorial deserves a re-write about the true ease of getting to Minmus, as it is actually the proper moon newcomers should get to first before Mün. Transfer burn

I have yet to try this, but it is potentially possible to transfer with less of a burn by a slingshot past the mun. Thoughts? PDTalk 19:53, 21 November 2012 (UTC)

Landing on Minmus is in some ways easier than the Mun, some ways harder. The Mun is tidally locked to Kerbin, and Minmus isn't. Additionally, Minmus has a much faster rate of rotation, and a smaller gravity well. However, Minmus has nice huge dry lakes, or two of which are big enough to be considered dry seas. This makes it much smoother than the Mun, especially in KSP 0.21.0 and later. It also has very low gravity, so you are less likely to break lander legs.
The biggest difficulties with Minmus are it's small Sphere of Influence which makes it harder to initially intercept, as well as harder to take off again to go home, without being flung into interplanetary space instead. --Ruedii (talk) 00:29, 31 July 2013 (CDT)
