For consistency, should all angles use the same angular system?  for example, all in-game angles are given in degrees, most values in this infobox are in degrees, and then MAE is given in radians.  perhaps MAE should be given in degrees as well? I added an automatic conversion so you only have to add one pressure (either in atm or in kPa) and it will calculate the other value. Now I used the “incorrect” value of 101.327, but I'm not sure where the error comes from. I'm new to wiki editing and such so I don't really know how to go about this but the Atmospheric Height data for all the planets other than Kerbin is wrong, sometimes by very large margins. It appears that that value is calculated based on a model derived from Kerbin's atmosphere which doesn't fit the other bodies with atmospheres. For Eve the wiki states an atmospheric height of ~108km but if you actually fly to Eve in game its atmosphere doesn't start until ~98km. Laythe (54km from wiki, 55km from game), Jool (165km wiki vs. 138km game), and Duna (36.5km wiki vs. 41.5km game) also have similar inconsistencies. Not a big difference, but it is quit alarming that what should be a simple mathematical calculation has an error of 1½ minutes. Anybody know where this comes from? Another number that is missing is the transition altitude from "near space" to "outer space". Besides being here: [[Science#Celestial_body_multipliers]], I'd suggest also putting it in this template section. So on the [[Kerbin]] page, it should say "Near Space (< 250Km)". On [[Mun]], it should say "Near Space (< 60Km)". On [[Minmus]], "Near Space (< 30Km)". It would hardly take up any additional space, and it would be useful. Dual precision

I am not sure if this would be possible, but I was wondering if the template could be updated so that you can enter the exact value, say 1545612.5625m (yes I mashed numbers for that) and the template automagically can work out to display that value as 1.546Mm but when you hover over it, you get the full exact value, perhaps click on it to toggle to it. This cater for both people wanting to have high precision values and show (by default) more human readable values. I am not sure how possible this really is though, especially the 'click to toggle' as it might require a little snippet of JavaScript, which I don't think is that easy to slip into wikis like this. that would be awesome if that could be done. It might be easier for the scripting if it didnt say 1.546Mm but if it said 1.546x10^6 m (or just e6). That way it is mathematically the same, just a different representation of the same unit. According the spreadsheet the orbital period is 9 203 545 seconds. Now this template uses {{OrbitPeriod}} which used only the parent's mass. I added also the orbiting mass, but this only reduces the time measured. The template uses {{G}} to use G in the calculations which may cause the difference:using KSP's G and [using real world G (With Kerbin's mass: KSP's G and real world G). When you then preview it, it will always use the saved version: You need to save it first and then reload the page (maybe with ?action=purge added to the link to reload the cache). One way to test it, is to use only the template code and test it on a page in your userspace (like User:Crush/test). Then you can preview it and apply the changes back to the original.
  • About making the template easier to understand: I agree this template is HUGE and complex, but unfortunately there can be done only a little. One main problem is the template expansion depth. The Mun page for example already has a depth of 36 with a maximum of 40. And if you put a part of this template into a separate subtemplate this depth is easily increasing and going beyond 40. We already had a situation and some values didn't work then anymore. Maybe somebody else has a good suggestion, because I haven't any. (And the MediaWiki syntax is awful regarding to this problem)
  • And now to your original suggestion: This is actually not that hard, I'll try to add something.

So the scientific multipliers are added, if anybody has a suggestion please let me know. One note on how to add those to the others bodies (I only add them for Kerbin): Add a value for sci surf, sci lower atmo, sci outer atmo, sci near space and sci outer space to the /Param sub page of the body (e.g. Kerbin/Param for Kerbin). If the value is ≤ 0 it will show N/A (e.g. for bodies without a surface). Synodic period not getting expanded

It would be great to see the synodic period in days/hours/minutes/seconds. I see that {{ExpandTime}} is supposed to do this, and I think it's actually in the synodic period section, but it doesn't seem to be working. I'm hesitant to tinker at this time, but I'll put it on my to-do list unless I get beaten to the punch. One more "important" addition

Another number that is missing is the transition altitude from "near space" to "outer space". Besides being here: Science#Celestial_body_multipliers, I'd suggest also putting it in this template section. So on the Kerbin page, it should say "Near Space (< 250Km)". On Mun, it should say "Near Space (< 60Km)". On Minmus, "Near Space (< 30Km)". It would hardly take up any additional space, and it would be useful. Bewing (talk) 14:49, 1 February 2016 (UTC)
