== This is a orbital rezendevous tutorial === In this tutorial you will learn how to eadily dock two different ships in orbit. You should know basic maneveurs like adjusting orbit

Specifications

  • Length: 15-20 minutes
  • Difficulty: Medium-Hard
  • For version: 0.18+

Step 1: Building rocket

I recommend a rocket with 2 stage core, 2-3 Radial liquid fuel boosters and optional some solid fuel ones but any rocket that can achieve 110km circular orbit with some spare fuel is good also RCS is needed

Step 2: Achieve your target-like circular orbit

Firstly make sure your target has circular orbit. Then fly straight up, get your periapsis at target orbit height, warp time and adjust apoapsis too. Now set your target as actually in game target from map and adjust inclination too.

Step 3: Getting near target

Now you should get intersect location. Adjust your orbit so your apoapsis will be higher ( not much!) than your target. Now warp time untill you will be like 20km ner your target. Then add maneveur node to intersect location and adjust your orbit so next cycle, you will be like 1-0,2 km near target. Now click at speed indicator so it will display target-relative speed. make burn towards your target node on navball MAKE SURE YOUR PROHRADE AIMS THERE TOO! ar like 300m start braking with rcs. Now you shuld be like 200-100m away from target.

Step 4: Docking

Reset your target to desired docking port. Now move towards target to like 50 m. Then try to head relative to target. Use translation to move like 5m near target. correct your heading AND rotation. Move last like 5 m so you will be almost touching target port. Now just wait untill ports are connected. If they are not connecting but they just wave around just wait, they sometimes take some time untill they properly allign.

Congratulations! you should have your ships connected now!

Steps

Step 1 - The weird step

This is step 1, everything about this step is weird, that's why I don't write this so long.

Step 2 - Finish the weird step

This concludes step 1, the weird step. Hopefully, step 2 isn't as weird as step 1 but still a little weird.

Step 3 - This is no weird?!

Exactly, this isn't any weird at all!

Finishing word

Tada! Now you've read a full tutorial. Congratulations!
