I tend to play video games in an unusual manner. Specifically, I dedicate considerable time to researching and reverse-engineering the mechanics of a game, either through individual experimentation or online research, mainly for the purpose of finding ways to abuse said mechanics. I figure this is a helpful quality for adding info to a wiki.

As an example, a fun fact from Team Fortress 2, which I discovered during that sort of obsessive online research: The critical-hit likelihood for melee weapons is 15%, but increases based on damage done recently up to a maximum of 60%. That's right, 60%. How to abuse this: go on ctf_sawmill, play demoman, and select the BASE Jumper, Sticky Jumper, and Scotsman's Skullcutter. A crit from the Skullcutter (which will happen more than half the time once you get a killstreak going) kills 8 out of 9 classes in one hit.

New stats table header

Work in progress. I hope to eventually use this to replace Template:Stats_Table_Header. Features when finished:

  • Pulls all translations from Template:dict
  • Collapsible tables (configurable start:collapsed/start:expanded, default start:expanded)
  • Image, part, cost, mass, crash tolerance, and max. temperature always included in header
  • All other potential headers implemented into this template (Torque, SAS level, required crew, electrical storage capacity, fuel storage, TWR, etc.)
  • headers selected automatically based off later arguments:
  • Mass and cost automatically divide into [full] and [empty] columns when one or more of the configured modules has a fuel parameter
  • Tables with hybrid parts with modules that don't fit well would have those modules listed in a separate column
  • Other headers added automatically based off the modules listed in the configuration -

example: configuring this template by listing "Command", "Reaction Wheel", and "Other" as modules would include this in the header:

Main parameters Command Reaction Wheel Additional modules
Image Part Cost Mass Crash tolerance Max. temperature SAS Level Required Crew/Power Torque Required Power
Usage:
{{Stats table header|(collapsed/expanded/whitespace)|(module name 1)|(module name 2)|(module name 3)|...|(module name n)}}

part mouseover box

Experiment for a new part list format that would display the /Box for the part as a rollover menu. This might need new CSS on the wiki, for which I would need a) an admin to add, and b) knowledge of how to write CSS :/

Usage
{{Part tooltip|(Part)}}
