Hello!

Request: description updating

A lot of the 'Product Description' sections in the various parts pages are outdated, because they don't get automatically updated (though they do seem to be added automatically during the initial page creation). For example, when the [Radial Engine Body] was renamed to "Engine Pre-cooler" in 1.0, its description changed, but it wasn't updated by BobBot. I was hoping a script could be added to pull the updated descriptions from the "description = " entries in the part configuration files.— Preceding unsigned comment added by VariousMetals (talkcontribs) 13:42, 11 May 2015‎ (UTC)

The problem is to reliably determine the place on the page where the bot can insert the description. — xZise [talk] 14:01, 11 May 2015 (UTC)
Don't all of the parts pages already have isolated, standardized "Product Description" sections? VariousMetals (talk) 15:09, 11 May 2015 (UTC)
Well … LV-N "Nerv" Atomic Rocket Motor#Product description. But maybe I'm able to make something work. — xZise [talk] 23:56, 11 May 2015 (UTC)
Okay I've run a script and there might be some problems but Special:Contributions/BobBot shows the contributions. Most are marginal changes (if at all) and those seem fine. But sometimes (like in http://wiki.kerbalspaceprogram.com/index.php?title=Probodobodyne_OKTO2&diff=next&oldid=61691 ) it fails because it wasn't in the usual style as it had the old description first. You can also see another issue which makes that complicated is when there is markup as the bot then thinks the text has changed although it hasn't. — xZise [talk] 11:10, 12 May 2015 (UTC)
