Your sandbox

Hey, I don't want to destroy you experiment. Now I'm mostly online with a Linux laptop (Ubuntu 12.04 w/ Firefox from the repos). Now it mostly works fine. Sometimes the new lines get messed up especially after pasting something from the clipboard. Usually I do a preview directly after pasting and then it looks okay. So I suggest to do a preview directly before posting, and then checking if some new lines are lost causing issues with headers. — xZise [talk] 10:31, 3 May 2013 (CDT)

Seems it works off an on if you preview first. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I'm not sure what the issue is.--Ruedii (talk) 19:00, 9 May 2013 (CDT)
OK I found the other issue. It seems I was hitting shift-enter, which feeds a soft-carriage-return character of some sort. This is used for web-apps that submit when a carriage return is put into the text field. I can't identify it because all of my text management utilities go and convert it to a simple LF character when I copy and paste to them.--Ruedii (talk) 19:15, 9 May 2013 (CDT)
If you have still problems you might want to disable “Enable navigable table of contents” in the settings. At least for me it gives me the plain old text window. Because when I copied something into here or from here, the new lines got messed up and it added the markup: E.g. pasting a title in the editing box appeared larger. But it wasn't really added with markup. As soon as I looked at the preview the text looked normal. Also shortcuts like CTRL+Z didn't work (very unhandy if you did a mistake you couldn't undo it simply). — xZise [talk] 05:42, 21 October 2013 (CDT)
Interestingly, Firefox doesn't have problems, just Chrome. --Ruedii (talk) 15:49, 28 October 2013 (CDT)
It definately seems to be specific to the Linux version of Chrome, Thus it likely affects ChromeOS as well. I will try some webkit browsers some other time. I will see if I can manage to trace down what end of line mark is being used for the soft-end-of-line on Linux Chrome. I'm not sure if it will be possible, though. I will also try to use the external text upload to create a complete test page of end-of-line marks, both ANSI/ASCII/ISO/UTF acknowledged and ones used by various platforms.--Ruedii (talk) 01:36, 28 February 2014 (CST)

Reverting some Mun pages

Hey, you reverted Mun/cs, Mun/de, Mun/nl and Mun/pl. Did you reverted it, because it was most likely automatically translated, or because it was incorrect (although Mun#Changes must be reverted to). — xZise [talk] 03:15, 29 May 2013 (CDT)

I dunno what was going wrong, I'm just copying "Terrain overhaul" line, from

0.14.2
 • Terrain overhaul

to

0.20
 • Terrain overhaul

I thought it will be all right although I didn't know their languages, rather than using Outdated, were there problems? ——Cesrate (talk) 05:52, 29 May 2013 (CDT)

I'm not sure what happened. I think I hit the wrong button by mistake and rolled it back. I undid my changes. I'll make sure I didn't accidentally do that anywhere else. --Ruedii

Well, but 0.20.1 seemed to revert it:(. Should the 0.20 overhaul be deleted or set up 0.20.1 line? ——Cesrate (talk) 20:21, 29 May 2013 (CDT)

Probably set up a 0.20.1 line. Technically there were adjustments in 0.20.1 which reverted the height overhaul. There are still improved textures. --Ruedii (talk) 14:26, 30 May 2013 (CDT)

Your edits in EVA

Hey you made two edits in EVA ([1] [2]) which weren't needed: As an article always starts with an uppercase character a link like tutorials will link to Tutorials. And everything after the text will be linked too (ladders will also make the s linkable). — xZise [talk] 15:46, 30 June 2013 (CDT)

Hi, I noticed that you tried to fix a link with a plural "s" on the EVA page. That isn't necessary though, because MediaWiki is smart enough to automatically "extend" the link. For example, ladders will create a complete link to "ladders". It will also work with other endings like ladderes or laddere - these are total nonsense, but exist in some cases or other languages. --dgelessus (talk · contribs) 15:25, 30 June 2013 (CDT)

I just like it the other way. It looks cleaner in the editor and doesn't mess with spell checkers. It also makes it easier to translate to languages that don't use suffex/prefix for the appropriate wordform.--22:16, 30 June 2013 (CDT)
It's the correct form though and RoboJeb will fix it anyway. --dgelessus (talk · contribs) 05:59, 1 July 2013 (CDT)
The spell checker on Firefox has no problem with ladders. But anyway I didn't saw that Dgelessus also posted here. — xZise [talk] 06:48, 1 July 2013 (CDT)

Deletion of Карликовая планета

You recently deleted Карликовая планета but there was a “discussion” Talk:Карликовая планета about this. I don't know if you didn't noticed it (although on the delete window there is a checkbox to delete also the talk page if it exists), but it would be nice if we had cleared it out before you deleted it. — xZise [talk] 04:02, 17 July 2013 (CDT)

Thanks, for the heads up. I'm sorry I didn't notice. --Ruedii (talk) 19:07, 20 July 2013 (CDT)

Why I've been gone.

I had some computer troubles. My wiki quality control initiative has been put on hold because of this. I posted about them in my forum blog. I'll give more details later there. Shortly before this computer failure I did find the cause of Linux KSP segfaulting on NREs on some systems (I managed to track down the cause. Yet another bug interaction with the AMD Radeon FGLRX driver. KSP is not the first program to have this problem.)
