:Jool has a much denser atmosphere and is much easier to aim at when you're coming in from an interplanetary orbit, although if you're feeling stylish I guess you could try to get a damned good shot and aerobrake at Laythe. --[[User:Alkex|Alkex]] ([[User talk:Alkex|talk]]) 17:58, 14 March 2013 (CDT)

To minimize use of fuel I have found it surprisingly effective to use gravity assists from Jool's many moons. I actually did it on accident during my first mission to Jool. In a gratuitous bit of luck, [[Tylo]] flung the probe into an orbit that intercepted Laythe's SOI. I even had enough fuel left after aerobraking to make a (relatively) soft landing on that huge crater's sand bar instead of landing in the water. Another hint on good island landing... Once in Laythe orbit - try changing your inclanation, so that you intersect with more landmass.

I tried to land a rover with 1 man capsule. In order not to brake weels and not turn over had to land below 1200m on quite an even surface, got it from 3rd try.
