+ | I second the change, as I was able to perform a round-trip Mun lander mission twice in a row. It's not the easiest thing to do, but the changes to the Mainsail Isp and Poodle mass reduction (as stated above) all contribute to making it possible. -pvt |

Maybe this article needs a radical rewrite: as (0.24) the mainsail became more efficient and the poodle lighter: 1: reaching the stable orbit with the 1st stage (the booster stages not counted) with a real gravity turn (real - not those stupid 45 degrees at 10km-like) possible. 2: Landing on the Mun and the return is possible (but only with excellent maneuvering, using atmospheric brake)
I second the change, as I was able to perform a round-trip Mun lander mission twice in a row. It's not the easiest thing to do, but the changes to the Mainsail Isp and Poodle mass reduction (as stated above) all contribute to making it possible. -pvt
