The page S.A.S Module already exists and contains some relevant information that could be copied or moved over. --CookieCrunch (talk) 23:11, 27 September 2012 (UTC)

I think the other way around should be used. There are currently three/four parts that provide SAS functionality, this page provides one place to provide information about it in general, the individual parts pages can provide specific information on parts, such as revision history and part placement. Or did you mean that content from S.A.S Module could be copied over to this page? In that case, I very much agree with you. Thecoshman (talk) 07:32, 28 September 2012 (UTC)
I meant the latter, so I fully agree with you. Nice work you've done here! --CookieCrunch (talk) 09:05, 28 September 2012 (UTC)

Do normal (non-Advanced) SAS Modules actually provide full P.I.D. functionality? I was under the impression only ASAS does that, while normal SAS only stops the ship from spinning ("Derivative" functionality, I guess) but does not turn it back to the original target heading.--CookieCrunch (talk) 09:13, 28 September 2012 (UTC)

I only took that from the S.A.S Module page. I am fairly sure, if you lock your desired heading with just SAS modules, they will contuiously work to keep you one that heading by applying yaw, pitch and roll

Should we even spell out the acronym?

In the 0.90 changelog section "SAS Overhaul", Squad seems to have unpacked some of the mystery in what "SAS" stands for:

  • Added new Autopilot System featuring 8 modes:
    • Stability Assist (Basic SAS)

This puts a question mark on this page being named "Stability Augmentation System". The old 2013 forum post about the system in the demo uses "Augmentation", but it's proving inconsistent.

Personally, I think having SAS have the content is better that redirecting to this anyway; it's the term players and in-game texts use most often. --Brendan (talk) 14:57, 24 February 2015 (CST)

Well is it Stability Assist System then or where does the second S come from? Moved it anyway. — xZise [talk] 18:56, 24 February 2015 (CST)
Yes, it would have to be System. But moving it to just "SAS" avoids all that mess. :) --Brendan (talk) 15:19, 5 March 2015 (CST)
