Nav Ball

The Nav Ball is the primary instrument to use if not flying with visuals. It can be seen in three different screens while flying:

The features of the Nav Ball include:

  • Throttle
  • RCS light
  • [[SAS]|SAS\/ASAS] light
  • Artificial Horizon
  • Heading indicator
  • Digital display

Artificial Horizon

The artificial horizon is a 3D representation of the attitude of the spacecraft. Where blue indicates 'up' and 'brown' down while the numbers represent the directions on the compass. e.g. 90 is East, 270 is West etc. The artificial horizon can show the following icons:

  • Long orange line with dot in the middle: This should be read as the current direction that the craft is pointing when read from the blue or brown ball background
  • Blue crosshair Blue crosshair: The direction of the current Maneuver
  • Three-pronged yellow crosshair: Prograde indicator
  • Three-progred green crosshair: Retrograde indicator
