I have the stock v0.23.5, w/no mods, and I'm not sure if there is a way I can check the actual value the game is using. Any thoughts on this?--BlobKerman (talk) 09:40, 31 May 2014 (CDT)

:Well, I answered my own question.  I put another orbiter up with an additional 60 thruster blocks (nearly doubling the mass of the orbiter), and did a 34 second burn, garnering the same ∆V (2250.8 m/s) as the first orbiter, and ~equal to the calculated ∆V (2251.6 m/s), assuming the thruster mass is zero.  (With the nonzero 0.05t amount, the calculated ∆V of the 2nd orbiter is 1130.5 m/s.)  It seems like a mistake to not note this on the page, or its part-template.--BlobKerman (talk) 12:58, 31 May 2014 (CDT)

Mass

I compared some in-game sampled ∆Vs with calculated ∆Vs (using the rocket equation) on a low mass orbiter (w/3 thruster blocks) and found that my sampled values were on average 4.3% higher than the calculated values. If I used a mass of 0.005t (for example, instead of the stated mass of 0.05t), the values only differed by 0.06%.
