A specialization or skill is an attribute assigned to Kerbals that indicates what abilities they can provide. Kerbals, with the exception of those with the Tourist specialization, can level up by earning experience, which may give them additional abilities specific to their skill.
List of specializations
- Pilots can provide SAS stabilization while in a vessel.
- Scientists can boost science gathered from experiments and vessel recovery, and can process data in the Mobile Processing Lab MPL-LG-2.
- Engineers have the ability to repair broken parts and replace used parts, including repacking parachutes and repairing rover wheels (depending upon their skill level). They also greatly boost the production rate of Resource Harvesters and Converters.
- Tourists have no special skills. They are only made available via tourism contracts, which require escorting them around the Kerbol system in exchange for Funds.
