The Daring Few Campaigns The Joolians

Now that Kerbal kind has explored beyond the reach of the system, Science has turned its eyes to the very center. These missions will try to improve Kerbal understanding of Kerbol itself.

Specifications

  • length: 3-5 hours
  • Difficulty: 6/10 (Proficient)
  • Skill:
  1. Expert navigation via maneuver node
  2. Advanced orbiting
  3. Basic understanding of interplanetary launch windows (phase angles)
  4. Advanced vessel design
  • Version: Every Version (only tested in .23)

Missions

Kepler I

  • Launch an unmanned probe into polar orbit around Moho
  • Orbit should be stable at 7000 km ±10
  • Probe must contain
  1. All scientific instrumentation in game.
  2. 4 Communotron 16 antenna
  3. 1 Communotron 88-88
  4. 2 Communotron HG-55
  5. Solar Paneling (probe must be self sufficient)
  6. M700 Survey Scanner
  7. M 4435 Narrow-Band Scanner
  8. Heat shield
  9. Radiators
  • Adjust Orbit so that the probe has full visibility of the sun for one orbit.

Kerbol I

  • Launch an unmanned probe
  • Probe must contain all parts as Kepler I, and a nuclear generator
  • Probe must flyby Kerbol at under 500000km

Kerbol II

  • Launch an unmanned probe
  • Probe must contain all parts as Kerbol II
  • Probe must flyby Kerbol at under 5000 km

Kerbol III

  • Launch an unmanned probe
  • Probe ust Contain
  1. No solar panels
  2. Nuclear generator (must be self sufficient)
  3. All scientific instrumentation in game.
  4. 1 Communotron 88-88, or 1 Communotron HG-55
  5. Radiators
  6. Heat shielding covering all equipment
  • Probe must "impact" with Kerbol
  1. Periapsis must be under Kerbols surface
