Thanks for the advice

Thanks a lot for the advice about the SPH article, I will turn my modification into a proper tutorial and move it into the tutorials sections. Thanks again. - Heatseeker

Hey I noticed your edit. Everything fine, except that your [[Kerbal|Kerbals]] diff will be changed by User:RoboJeb like it already did in that article. Now until yesterday evening I didn't know that the bot is so active ;) but it looks like it still does something. — xZise [talk] 13:06, 6 May 2013 (CDT)

The reason of editing the Language Box?

I don't quiet understand it. As I've said, in order not to make the major Language Box crowded with the branches of language, I set up {{Main Page Layout for zh/Language Box for zh}} to make the Language Box on other languages' Main Page only display one name of the languages. If you think it's unnecessary, all the edits, including specific templates can be undone, instead of only change the main Language Box. ——Cesrate (talk) 19:04, 20 May 2013 (CDT)

I didn't know that such a sub-language box exists :S The language box edit can be undone then, but on Project:Translation all the codes should be listed in my opinion. That's also where I saw the two Chinese codes in the first place, so I thought these were missing. --Dgelessus (talk) 00:54, 21 May 2013 (CDT)

Right one already exists for Parts/strutConnector/parts.cfg

Hey, you said that the right one for Parts/strutConnector/parts.cfg already exists, but Parts/strutConnector/part.cfg doesn't. If I overlooked something please tell me. But if I can move it, say so and I'll move it to the correct name. — xZise [talk] 13:40, 27 May 2013 (CDT)

Fyi EAS-4 Strut Connector also has a red linked part.cfg. — xZise [talk] 13:41, 27 May 2013 (CDT)

Whoops, that was just me giving the same reason for the three wrong names I found. DERP! No objections if you move it of course ;) --dgelessus (talk, contribs) 15:26, 27 May 2013 (CDT)
Yep that was my guess. I now fixed all your three part(s).cfg regarding issues. — xZise [talk] 15:47, 27 May 2013 (CDT)

All right no problem anymore

I'll see if I can link the Move Request to that Project... ——Cesrate (talk) 18:52, 29 May 2013 (CDT)

I've fixed the name. Now I'm thinking if this template can automatically report the details to Project:Move, but that seems to be beyond what I can do. ——Cesrate (talk) 19:05, 29 May 2013 (CDT)

Updating the part paths

Hey you already updates some part.cfg paths. Now in general this is nice, but could you please:

  1. Mark the old file with {{Delete}}?
  2. You don't need to add parent to the command pods. It actually does nothing, as they already set the parent value.

xZise [talk] 15:29, 6 June 2013 (CDT)

Okay you don't have to mark them as deletable. Only spams the logs. — xZise [talk] 15:31, 6 June 2013 (CDT)
I once more forgot about subtemplates... well, I'll just remove the parent then. And thanks alot for deleting the leftover part.cfgs! --dgelessus (talk · logs) 15:58, 6 June 2013 (CDT)

Deleting pages

Hello, I am kerbinorbit, that guy that accidentally made that addon page, I thought their was a real radial Xenon Container, so I am wondering on how you delete a page – Preceding unsigned comment added by Kerbinorbit (talk, contribs)

You can't delete pages yourself. A sysop (admin) has to do that, and the best way to let one know is to put a delete note on the page, like I did. You do that by typing {{delete|delete reason goes here}}, that will automatically be replaced by the delete notice box when you view the page.
By the way, on talk pages you can sign your post by typing --~~~~ or clicking the "sign" button (third from the left), it will add your name and the date and time of your post like this: --dgelessus (talk · logs) 14:12, 13 June 2013 (CDT)
I am one and deleted it. Although we should consider to add addon parts. But it might get crowded then. — xZise [talk] 14:20, 13 June 2013 (CDT)
NOT NOW! ;) We still have the update of the configs, the infobox move, and I'm updating the parts list. But wait, if we'll add addon parts, that means another cfg path change, so better add the parameter for the boxes soon, before we move all of the pages. --dgelessus (talk · logs) 14:39, 13 June 2013 (CDT)
Think like the “Squad” is omitted. So if you have an addon “foo” and a part “blub” it would be Parts/Foo/<parent>/blub/part.cfg as example. At least this would be my suggestion. It does break the “wiki path == file system path” for addon parts. Or the other way around. When you have the addon foo you have the page foo and then you have Foo/Parts/<parent>/blub/part.cfg. But this should be in the partbox discussion ;) — xZise [talk] 14:46, 13 June 2013 (CDT)

Making the infobox official

Moin, I created a new {{Infobox/Line}} template which should work now. I would suggest moving your template ( User:Dgelessus/Infobox) into the template namespace. If you are okay with it I would move (with redirect?) the page. — xZise [talk] 14:27, 23 June 2013 (CDT)

Thanks for making a working version, I just couldn't manage to create a second row... You can move the infobox into the official namespace, no problems with that. I'll update and clean up the page and remove my tests, so you won't have to leave a redirect. --dgelessus (talk · logs) 16:01, 23 June 2013 (CDT)

Lowercase species name?

Hey, would you write “Klingon” or “klingon”? I guess it should be “Kerbal” with an uppercase K. Although human differ so personally I'm not sure how this should be handled. — xZise [talk] 09:40, 30 June 2013 (CDT)

I took the lowercase from the part descriptions where kerbals are treated like humans (see, that's lowercase as well). It is probably more correct to use uppercase though, because we are not Kerbals. Maybe this would be worth adding to the guidelines. --dgelessus (talk · logs) 09:45, 30 June 2013 (CDT)

Translating your template won't work

Moin, little reminder: The translation you added will only work on pages like User:Dgelessus<any text here>/de. — xZise [talk] 10:28, 30 June 2013 (CDT)

No problem with that, it's only supposed to list the stuff in my userspace. I won't put it anywhere else. Although I would like to know why it wouldn't work, I don't see any reason for that. --dgelessus (talk · logs) 11:14, 30 June 2013 (CDT)
{{lang}} gets the last section of the title (e.g. which would de on Main Page/de or Main Page/Important Links/de) and than check if the parameter is set and return the given value (or English if the last section isn't defined or the parameter isn't set). And I'm aware of the usage only in your userspace but I simply wanted to inform you that it won't work. — xZise [talk] 11:27, 30 June 2013 (CDT)
I'm sorry, but I still don't understand why it wouldn't work... :( Do you mean that {{lang}} would expect the language code "Test (ignore this)" on my test page, simply because it is a subpage? (or just explain it in German, maybe that'll help ;) --dgelessus (talk · logs) 15:16, 30 June 2013 (CDT)
PS: I know that I'm doing things improperly, not if lang-ing the links and such. But it's supposed to be that way. Most of it are test or WIP pages, so I want to be able to quickly switch pages no matter what language I'm currently on. That's also why I did the LangFallback-style thing on the test page link. --dgelessus (talk · logs) 11:18, 30 June 2013 (CDT)

About your change onlyinclude/includeonly

Hey, for your information: w:de:Hilfe:Vorlagen#Bedingtes Einbinden von Quelltextblöcken (en). — xZise [talk] 08:52, 12 July 2013 (CDT) But I don't bother your change ;) It works both ways and ultimately this edit did the trick. — xZise [talk] 08:58, 12 July 2013 (CDT)

Oh, didn't know that onlyinclude had a special function. Thought that it was just an old and unsupported way of doing things. Thanks for the tip! --dgelessus (talk · contribs) 11:53, 12 July 2013 (CDT)

Your test with DISPLAYTITLE

Moin, I noticed your test with {{DISPLAYTITLE}}: my request on N3X15's user talk page. — xZise [talk] 13:23, 16 July 2013 (CDT)

Oh, so that is possible with the right permissions? I reread the article on MediaWiki after noticing that it didn't work, and somehow misinterpreted it, so I thought that only minor changes were possible with displaytitle. Thanks for telling me!
What I was actually trying to test was whether the new displaytitle can be found directly through the search. That would eliminate one reason for the translated redirects. --dgelessus (talk · contribs) 14:59, 16 July 2013 (CDT)
Ah ;) I don't think that it would work this way. — xZise [talk] 16:57, 16 July 2013 (CDT)

Thank you

Thanks for correcting my footnote in GRAVMAX Negative Gravioli Detector. :) I didn't put it by myself cause I thought inserting it will result in footnote in the citations section instead of desired below the table. --Fifi (talk) 14:45, 25 July 2013 (CDT)

Contributions

Dgelessus, sorry to bother you on your talk page, but I have some serious doubts that xZise will understand what I've put on his talk page: I'm not willing to contribute to a Wiki where my work might be subject to destruction by a non-English, non-expert admin who's willing to work that destruction but unable to understand what I'm trying to tell him when I get upset. Please explain this to him. Since there's a lot of updating related to 0.21.1, I was about to get into it. But of course, what happened to KEO (including its long-ago delinking from Kerbin - yes, I noticed) leaves me thinking that I would only be wasting my time attempting to do so, so it looks like I'm done contributing to this Wiki. If I'm wrong and you guys want me to help out, you might need to email me (same name at gmail), since my watch notifications are not coming back (I have no idea why that is) and I never log in to a Wiki anywhere if I'm not about to edit something. Note about your help page

Hi, I was able to restore the new lines from your Help:Editing page. — xZise [talk] 18:14, 29 August 2013 (CDT)

Thanks a lot. I have no idea what was wrong - when I copied it in it had line breaks, but when I previewed/submitted it lost all of them. Maybe the line breaks were only a CR or LF, and not CRLF as Windows needs it. --dgelessus (talk · contribs) 05:24, 30 August 2013 (CDT)
