How would you feel about having the See Also section removed from Kerbin, Kerbol, Mun, etc.? The celestials template, which is DIRECTLY beneath that, serves the exact same purpose without filling the wiki with redlinks. --  Trinexx  ►  13:54, 22 September 2012 (UTC)

I'm up for it, at least with the current celestial bodies links. UmbralRaptor (talk) 02:45, 24 September 2012 (UTC)

You receive my (un)unofficial not lazy badge for being one of the 3-4 people to help update the wiki to 0.18 :D --n (talk) 12:21, 5 December 2012 (UTC)

Sitenotice

As I understand it, the link in the Sitenotice has been broken for several months now, even before the move to the Squad servers. It links to this 404 page instead of the correct sign-up page. I gather that other editors have noticed this, but have been unable to do anything about it since MediaWiki pages are protected (sysop only). Bovell (talk) 18:22, 9 February 2013 (CST)

I feel remarkably unobservant for missing that. UmbralRaptor (talk) 22:18, 9 February 2013 (CST)

Deleting redirects

Hello, I deleted your the redirects you created when you moved the Photovol(t)a(t)ic pages. I hope this is okay ;) (I'm just wondering why you didn't uncheck the box “create redirect”). — xZise [talk] 05:42, 4 May 2013 (CDT)

It's fine. I failed to think through that places that needed to have updated links would be rare and obvious. UmbralRaptor (talk) 21:40, 9 May 2013 (CDT)

Fuel efficiency of the PB-ION Electric Propulsion System

Hello, you changed the values for the ion engine. Now I'm wondering why I can verify the power consumption in the infobox?

This gives me a mass flow rate of 0.0121353332 kg/s or (as 10 x/kg) 0.121353332 x/s. Now the engine uses 120 E for 1 x and with a usage of 0.121353332 x/s · 120 E/x = 14.5623999 E/s. — xZise [talk] 03:30, 18 June 2013 (CDT)

It appears that g0 became 9.82 at some point (even though the surface gravity is still 9.81) Verification via 10 ion engines: File:10X_Xenon.png UmbralRaptor (talk) 22:09, 18 June 2013 (CDT)
Strange. But now I remember that I read in some discussion that the g0 for Isp wasn't 9.81 ms⁻². Hmpf another inconsistency. Maybe they should show the value in ms⁻¹ to avoid confusion. — xZise [talk] 03:49, 19 June 2013 (CDT)
Okay I updated Terminology#Isp and the ion engine's page with your information and filed a bug report. — xZise [talk] 04:11, 19 June 2013 (CDT)
So, after further checking, I can reproduce g0 == 9.82 as far back as 0.18, but It seems to be 9.81 in 0.17. UmbralRaptor (talk) 00:56, 23 June 2013 (CDT)
I was playing with science instruments in the game yesterday and both the gravioli meter and the accelerometer would flicker back and forth between 9.81 and 9.82 while sitting on the launch pad (my lander stage I was playing around with to practice not-crashing since I'm new). -- Krenshala (talk) 14:54, 26 July 2013 (CDT)
I did some tests and was able to determine the value pretty narrow: Specific impulse#Conversion factor. — xZise [talk] 05:35, 21 October 2013 (CDT)

Dry mass suggestion

Hi, you suggested to support dry mass for the fuel tanks. Now this is more or less working (I'm upgrading the last templates). So whenever you stumble on a fuel tank infobox with incorrect mass, you only have to change the parameter to dry mass. — xZise [talk] 11:52, 10 September 2013 (CDT)

Creation of !!science!!

Hi, why did you create that redirect? I mean no page (unless this) links to it. — xZise [talk] 04:30, 5 March 2014 (CST)

It's mostly a joke, but there's enough sticking Dwarf-Fortress style double bangs around science (especially in the IRC) that it seemed more or less worthwhile (sort of like how LV-T30 redirects). If it's inappropriate, I'll remove it. UmbralRaptor (talk) 21:40, 5 March 2014 (CST)

Wiki impossible Captchas to register

The captcha asking what animal is on Squad's logo does not accept Chimpanzee, Chimp, or chimpanzee. The one asking "How hard is ___ ___, anyway?" was unknown to me - I had no idea it was the game's slogan (How hard is rocket science, anyway?). I had to ask in IRC to get the answer to the slogan one, and I still have no idea what the wiki wanted for the animal on Squad's logo.

How about for captchas, "What color are Kerbals?" -> "Green". And "What company makes Kerbal Space Program?" -> "Squad". Glyph (talk) 15:04, 11 October 2015 (UTC)

Unfortunately, I have limited control over how captchas are handled. Currently contacting Squad. UmbralRaptor (talk) 15:18, 12 October 2015 (UTC)

Page move request

It looks like the J-33 "Wheesley" Basic Jet Engine was renamed to the J-33 "Wheesley" Turbofan Engine in version 1.05. I noticed a page move request on the page but I'm not able to help with that. I think you have page move privileges though, right? -Kerbolnaut (talk) 23:53, 16 January 2016 (UTC)

Done! UmbralRaptor (talk) 17:46, 17 January 2016 (UTC)
Thank you Umbral! I apologize, I have one more request to bug you with, it looks like we've been hit by a plague of spambots. User:Akattyperry, User:Pk969837, User:Spyvikash, User talk:Albertthomas, User:Mackhill, User:Lavpuneet, User:Pranay, User:Amaniket. They've made about 300-400 spam pages with fraudulent phone numbers. Fortunately User:Murph got about half of Pk969837's edits, and in the process created a handy template that I used to ensure that the rest of these spambot edits would be similarly fruitless. I'm just waiting for someone with ban and delete privileges to clear the mess up. We probably also ought to have more stringent spam restrictions to keep this from happening again, but is that feasible? -Kerbolnaut (talk) 21:13, 17 January 2016 (UTC)
Add User:Robertkelly35‎ to the spambot list. This one is interesting since the account was created immediately prior to spamming us. I'm surprised brand-new users get enough leeway to do that. -Kerbolnaut (talk) 14:00, 18 January 2016 (UTC)
More or less up to date on banhammers now. Though I seem to be hamstrung in terms of deleting the damage by being unable to delete all of a user's "contributions." UmbralRaptor (talk) 03:33, 20 January 2016 (UTC)
