The icons of the direction selector bar

The direction selector is a part of the GUI appears with activation of S.A.S. (if there are functions beyond the stability assist). It helps to orientate the craft to the desired direction by clicking on its icon if the available probe core or skilled pilot controls the craft. The icons of directions beyond the skill of the probe core or pilot won't appear on the bar of the direction selector. The directions matches with those can be found on the navball. If the maneuver is among the available directions, it can help to perform the orbital maneuvers planned with maneuver nodes too. There is also a Stability Assist icon on the bar, which is the base function of the SAS.

Prior to 1.6.0, the restrictions were valid in career mode only, in sandbox and science mode all functions were available! Now a setting is available to change this behavior.

Since 1.11.1, players not having the Making History expansion installed had all kerbals or probes capable of using all direction selectors. This was fixed in 1.12.2.
