Planetbox templates

Thanks a lot for your work on Template:Planetbox and related templates! It's really nice to have them cleaned up so that they no longer require redundant information. — Elembis (talk) 13:44, 18 February 2013 (CST)

Spoiler Template

Hello XZise. I noticed that you seem to know your way around MediaWiki syntax. Could you create a "spoiler" template for the wiki which hides content until the user clicks on it? That would be very useful for hiding information about easter eggs, like some of the screenshots on the page about Mün. --Crush (talk) 08:38, 7 March 2013 (CST)

Terminal velocity - chart on Atmosphere

Thanks for fixing it! The many Kerbals that would otherwise have died trying to fudge that value experimentally are most grateful! (They will, more likely than not, be headed for a much more creative death now... for the sake of science, of course.)

-- Joren (talk) 16:51, 27 March 2013 (CDT)

Heh... I didn't even notice that was using a template. I really should have investigated it further instead of just pressing the delete button... pressing the launch button is much more fun, anyway :) -- Joren (talk) 16:57, 27 March 2013 (CDT)

Error caused by Template:Sigfigs and Template:OrbitAltitude

Hello XZise. Your recent edits to these two templates caused an error message on the page Mün (old version with the error message). I fixed it temporarily by removing the Sigfigs template around the OrbitalAltitude template, but you might want to look into it. --Crush (talk) 07:50, 7 April 2013 (CDT)

This is simply because OrbitAltitude doesn't return only a number (like 1337.42) and instead format it (1 337.42). Now Sigfigs expects a plain number. To fix this either remove sigfigs (preferred as it's not useful to use it in cases like your's) or use . Unfortunately every celestials article uses OrbitAltitude indirectly via the Planetbox so “What links here” is not of great use. — xZise [talk] 08:03, 7 April 2013 (CDT)
Okay I looked in all articles. I couldn't find any new location of this error. As there is no need to make OrbitAltitude compatible with Sigfigs I would leave it as it is. — xZise [talk] 08:26, 7 April 2013 (CDT)
PS: Tl creates easily those cool looking clickable templates. — xZise [talk] 08:08, 7 April 2013 (CDT)

/Data

XZise, the problem of using one data template is that the template is in english. Gusta (talk) 12:31, 7 April 2013 (CDT)

Hmmm but Kerbol/de or Kerbol/ru have it in German/Russian? In some languages (e.g. Swedish) the translations are missing. But then somebody with Swedish skills should do it. — xZise [talk] 12:47, 7 April 2013 (CDT)
Ah I saw that you are active in the Portuguese Wikipedia and Planetbox doesn't support this language. I guess you saw this edit and marking Kerbol/pt/Data for deletion. If you want to add the Portuguese translation simply edit Planetbox. — xZise [talk] 12:53, 7 April 2013 (CDT)
You mean creating Template:Planetbox/pt ? Gusta (talk) 12:55, 7 April 2013 (CDT)
“If you want to add the Portuguese translation simply edit Planetbox” No not creating a /pt translation (there is no . For example I want to add the translation of mass for Klingon I can do this by adding “tlh=ngI'” to

As you can see there are already translations into Dutch, French, Polish, Russian and German. Now if you are on a page with /fr as suffix (e.g. Kerbol/fr) it selects the French text. If there is no text in the “active” language it will use by default English. As lang doesn't understand tlh/Klingon it won't work ;)xZise [talk] 13:19, 7 April 2013 (CDT)
Ohh, understood now. Thanks a lot!. Gusta (talk) 13:29, 7 April 2013 (CDT)

Chat Room Idea

Hi^^ XZise

I was thinking of making a chat room for this wiki but i need lots of help Kerbal Space Program Chat Room still not so sure if it going to work but worth a shot

Before you say anything like:

 • This wiki does not need a chat room.
 • It will not work

The chat room idea is a great way to get people to talk to each other instead of using other users talk link for non-important inquiries about KSP or just well, life get to know people and discuss bugs, fix, updates, mods, muddles, ideas and tips etc. - Nova Storm (Talk)

So, er, what would it add that the IRC channel does not? UmbralRaptor (talk) 22:53, 1 May 2013 (CDT)
Technically it would be asynchronous. If you have a question but the person who can answer it isn't online at the moment it is still possible to answer later while the person who ask the question can be already offline. But apart from that, I don't see an advantage. — xZise [talk] 03:29, 2 May 2013 (CDT)

Reply to message.

Hello, and thank you for your message! I think I've got most of it figured out at the moment, but I'll let you know if I need anything. :)

Nice :) and maybe sign (--~~~~) your post, so I know who talks to me ;) — xZise [talk] 16:16, 1 May 2013 (CDT)

Mun Tutorial

Thanks for your helpful amendments to my edit of the Mun Landing tutorial. Great stuff! - Kerloyov (talk) 11:45, 13 May 2013 (GMT)

Dito ;) PS: How are you able to show the GMT/UTC time and not CDT? — xZise [talk] 06:40, 13 May 2013 (CDT)

Thanks very much for the Planetbox…

And for the Zh-cn or Zh-Hans stuff, RHZhao firstly started the Chinese Wiki as Zh-cn. I have held a discussion about whether to move it to Zh-Hans, and the result is most of the users prefer to keep it. So it's like this now.

And… A question, is there a grammar to modify the language name displayed on Languange Box? The default name isn't like those in Wikipedia…

All in all, thanks very much:)

Okay, so zh-cn and zh-hans are the same? This may be relevant for templates like lang. About your “Language Box”. Do you mean ? This uses Mp-lang to link to another language and uses the language code provided by . So there is not much to do, but when I'm on the English Main Page the Chinese link to their Main Page is written as 中文. Now the language box shows 中文(中国大陆)‎which looks for me (I don't have a clue about Chinese) identical, except for the part in the brackets. But this is simply because of the -cn
 • → 中文
 • → 中文(中国大陆)‎
So I don't know what you want to do there. And btw, would be nice if you ~~~~ sign your posts so I know who I'm talking to ;) — xZise [talk] 13:06, 14 May 2013 (CDT)
