Problems of LanguageBox on zh-tw Mainpage

RHZhao may start to work on zh-tw pages before long, but now I find on Main Page/zh-tw all the language links are to Main Page/zh-tw/xx instead of Main Page/xx, which makes them all invalid. I don't know what caused this problem. Could you fix this? ——Cesrate (talk) 22:36, 8 June 2013 (CDT)

A thanks for the info! Until now zh-tw wasn't a supported language by {{lang}} and {{if lang}} and those links needed to know, that the suffix is a language code (if not it thinks it is a English page and adds the other language codes). It is now fixed! — xZise [talk] 05:21, 9 June 2013 (CDT)
Oh, thanks very much. ——Cesrate (talk) 06:58, 9 June 2013 (CDT)

Username change

Can I request a wiki name change? I would like it shortened to inigma Thanks! Inigmatus (talk) 18:16, 12 June 2013 (CDT)

I guess you need to ask User talk:N3X15 for this favour as the needed extension aren't installed and I'm not able to install those. But I'm not sure how useful this is you should consider if “inigma” is really necessary. — xZise [talk] 18:34, 12 June 2013 (CDT)

Thanks

Thanks for deleting my error of a page. I thought the KSPX addon parts were real parts, so thanks man!\ --Kerbinorbit (talk) 14:22, 13 June 2013 (CDT)

Interwiki link "bug"

That one seems somewhat buggy... For example if you take a look at Kerbal Space Program Wiki:Guidelines#Linking_to_forum.2Fblog nothing appears after the "generates" of the bug: line. Instead a link with "exotic" characters (Win XP can't display them) is added to the sidebar under "In other languages". This does not happen with the other interwiki prefixes. You have added them, so could you please try to fix that? --dgelessus (talk · logs) 18:05, 22 June 2013 (CDT)

This is strange. On User talk:UmbralRaptor it works fine. I'll try to look into it. If you find any other strange behaviour of this prefix let me know. — xZise [talk] 18:49, 22 June 2013 (CDT)
Okay it does work in talk namespaces (like in UmbralRaptor's case). And those characters are in the Unicode block Buginese. I guess the language code for buginese ist bug and some quirk interprets it as a interwiki link. I said quirk, because de:Hauptseite won't show up link on the sidebar. — xZise [talk] 18:56, 22 June 2013 (CDT)
Buginese language and there is a link with the same characters (ᨅᨔ ᨕᨘᨁᨗ) to bug.wikipedia.org. — xZise [talk] 18:59, 22 June 2013 (CDT)
Okay I changed the prefix name to tracker so if this wiki may use language code like the Wikipedia it won't break compatibility with the Buginese language. — xZise [talk] 19:20, 22 June 2013 (CDT)

Shortcut templates

Hi, I noticed that you created some shortcut templates, like {{P1}} and {{P2}}. However they save you just one character and don't really ease typing, so I don't think they are really necessary. If there's any special functionality that I didn't notice, please tell me. --dgelessus (talk · logs) 10:56, 24 June 2013 (CDT)

Yep see {{If}}. In some cases the mediawiki syntax is awesome, but to preserve newlines in ifs it sucks. — xZise [talk] 11:25, 24 June 2013 (CDT)
Okay, that makes sense. Also, couldn't you just create something like {{P|parameter number}} so you don't have to create a new template for every number? --dgelessus (talk · logs) 11:58, 24 June 2013 (CDT)
Its copied from the English Wikipedia. So I guess there isn't a better way. — xZise [talk] 12:21, 24 June 2013 (CDT)
By the way: Special:WhatLinksHere/Template:P1 and Special:WhatLinksHere/Template:P2 are used in many pages. — xZise [talk] 12:27, 24 June 2013 (CDT)
That's all transcluded from some infoboxes and could easily be changed. But of course there is no problem with the current naming if the numbers don't go up too far. --dgelessus (talk · logs) 13:16, 24 June 2013 (CDT)
I seriously doubt that your suggestion works. The mediawiki syntax is very unpredictable in preserving newlines. For example {{#if: foo|{{P1|bar}}}} won't preserve leading newlines. — xZise [talk] 17:27, 24 June 2013 (CDT)

dropping a note about my edit

Hi there! I rewrote Tutorial: Satellite Coverage to improve readability/grammar. I don't believe I changed the meaning of anything, but I would appreciate it if you had a look! Draeath (talk) 13:25, 24 July 2013 (CDT)

Looks nice, thank you. — xZise [talk] 14:34, 24 July 2013 (CDT)

Page recreation

Hello! I was wondering if I could recreate the PB-X50R Xenon Container page. Would you allow it? --Kerbinorbit (talk) 16:36, 25 July 2013 (CDT)

Yeah if it is an official part of KSP sure. Usually you don't need to ask permission to create a page if it is about KSP. I also noted that the name isn't PB-X15R. — xZise [talk] 16:51, 25 July 2013 (CDT)

Re: My last changes in GRAVMAX Negative Gravioli Detetor page.

Ah, I thought they are example measurements at various celestial bodies (you know - community collected data, rather then parameters from mods/game files or from calculations). Should I remove them or put in another table? (i made a temporary fix by making second table, to separate example data from the border detector values)--Fifi (talk) 18:51, 25 July 2013 (CDT)

I personally have nothing against your table, but they could calculated easily. I removed my Kerbol value from your table, because it was my estimation (my probe had that altitude and I got no reading so calculated the gravitational acceleration). — xZise [talk] 03:49, 26 July 2013 (CDT)
Okok. So if it's already here - maybe I'll finish filling it up - for new pilots it could be easier to use a table for a fast lookup during the mission preparations rather then writing down all variables. ;)

Can email me

After what happened on the KEO page today, I now feel it was a complete waste ever to have contributed to this Wiki. Because of this, it is very, very unlikely I will ever log into my account here again. If you think my contributions would be valuable and have trouble getting my attention via my talk page, my gmail username is the same. Featherwinglove (talk) 15:54, 27 July 2013 (CDT)

Okay now you complaining at Dgelessus about I didn't read this here? Simply because I think you overreact. Nothing is lost as all versions of the KEO page are still in the version history. If you think your (only) contribution to this wiki is waste of time it is your opinion and when you want to leave this wiki you can do that. Now you actually replied to your talk page so e-mailing you wasn't even necessary. So I don't know how you figured I didn't read your comment here. As you only address Dgelessus I let you talk and won't touch the KEO page again (at least for the next time until you either abandon this Wiki or somebody else “vandalize” it). — xZise [talk] 03:59, 28 July 2013 (CDT)

Positioning of the reaction wheels matter?

Hi you added the info on Inline Reaction Wheel that the positioning matter. But I can't see any indication of that in the blog post? — xZise [talk] 09:05, 30 July 2013 (CDT)

It's something he said in one of the comments about 3/4 of the way down the page, I couldn't figure out how to link to exactly there, though.
"The placement does matter for reaction wheels. Generally speaking they can cause some problems if placed far from the COM. Imagine you are grabbing that point and rotating it. That is what the reaction wheels will try to do. You'll get offcenter(sic) rotation anywhere other then near the COM."
Hope I'm replying to you correctly I don't know how the wiki talk stuff really works.Moon Goddess (talk) 11:34, 5 August 2013 (CDT)
Okay, thank you for that update I found your description. Unfortunately I can't find a way to link this directly, too. Your answer is btw. fine (although I usually also would have noticed if you had answer it on your talk page). — xZise [talk] 13:00, 5 August 2013 (CDT)
Capt. Skunky told me in the IRC how to directly link it. I updated that article. — xZise [talk] 13:17, 5 August 2013 (CDT)

About the Mun Data box

I'm not sure if I marked it outdated correctly (I placed the highest point known now into it and added the "outdated" tag in the beginning of the page). Sorry for bothering you, but you have much more experience than me, could you help me and check it, please? Fifi (talk) 06:59, 8 August 2013 (CDT)

Hi, it's fine. At the moment it is shown on every page (and thus on Mun twice). This way every language get the information, that the page is outdated, but on the other hand only Mun/Data is outdated (and maybe the terrain section in the Mun article(s)). I'm not sure if the tag should be visible on every page, but at least it shouldn't be removed completely (unless this highest elevation is fixed). — xZise [talk] 10:13, 8 August 2013 (CDT)

Removing the "not suggest" reference

Hi, I don't quite understand you removed the "not suggest" ref from the planned features list. The post does state what will never be implemented - note the *s and footnote. --dgelessus (talk · contribs) 18:41, 11 August 2013 (CDT)

First of all, that list isn't verifiable on it's own (is KasperVid an official?) and secondly those * “will not be in (first release of) the game” but maybe in a later release (for example multiplayer is listed in the not suggest list with an asterisk but we got confirmation that this might be implemented and isn't dead yet). That is simply a list of topics which don't need to be suggested, as they either will be implemented (and the devs are aware of them) or they will be never implemented and unfortunately (apart from the asterisk) they aren't marked different. — xZise [talk] 01:50, 12 August 2013 (CDT)
KasperVid is a member of Squad or directly related to them AFAIK. He does have a fancy rank (consultant) under his forum name. And the thread is marked as [Official]. But your point with the first version of the game is valid. Maybe there should be a section for "not happening any time soon" features or something. --dgelessus (talk · contribs) 13:12, 12 August 2013 (CDT)

Adding photos to Resource infoboxes

Hey, is it alright if I change the template for Infobox/Resource to allow images? Cause right now file is set to none, and I've got some photos that would make all the resource pages feel less like stubs. (Also how do you get that longer line in front of your signature) --Chuzzard (talk) 01:48, 14 August 2013 (CDT)

I'm wondering what image you would add for a resource? If it's a good picture, then of course, but resources are quite abstract. And how I get the longer line? On Ubuntu is a default key combination (AltGr+Shift+-) but you can also use — and instead of adding --~~~~ manually add —~~~~ or edit in the Special:Preferences your signature to — [[User:Chuzzard|Chuzzard]] ([[User talk:Chuzzard|talk]]) but then you have to type only ~~~~. — xZise [talk] 02:02, 14 August 2013 (CDT)
Awesome! Thanks for the tip! And yes, it is true that recources are difficult to depict. The pictures I mentioned are just the green resource bars on the top left of the flight UI, with the corresponding resource circled. I know, it's not much, but I feel it at least makes the pages a bit less lifeless.
