A ship has adjusted the path to have perijool about the same height as Laythe's orbit and intercepts it. The speed of the ship will be just a little faster than Laythe's, which makes aerobraking much easier than when approaching from Jool.

Laythe rotates with a period of 14 hours, so tiny adjustments done a month before SOI transition will be enough.

Note the used ascent stage (debris) on collision course with Jool.
