Bop/Data Bop is one of the five natural satellites of Jool. It seems to be a captured asteroid and has certain similarities to Gilly, another pressumed captured asteroid orbiting Eve. Bop has a large crater with a white rim. Some of its mountains rise nearly 22 km above the surface. The brownish color may come from solid carbon or iron oxide.

Topography

Bop is mostly mountainous with few flat surface areas.

A noticeable feature on Bop is a very large impact crater on one side of it.

100 000× 100 000 m

It is unwise to orbit at an altitude of under 10 km, as you will almost always encounter a mountain.

Trivia

Spoiler:
  • In version 0.20, the overview for Bop states that in Kerbal Mythology, it is home to the Space Kraken. This is partially true, as a dead Kraken is found on Bop.
