Pol is one of the five natural satellites of Jool. Pol is in a large orbit, with moderate eccentricity and inclination. It may be a captured asteroid. The terrain is (proportionally) quite rough, with large ridges that make it resemble a pollen grain. The tallest mountains are very roughly 3-4 km high. The asteroid is very hard to land on due to its extremely low gravity. The asteroid's gravity is similar to the force of Gilly, but outstandingly lower. This asteroid is a fuel waster, because of how you enter the Joolian system, how high the inclination is for your Lander or satellite, and just trying to capture the asteroids gravitational pull. Pol is also tidally locked to Jool as it seems.

Characteristics

Pol has many characteristics. For one, it has many spiked mountains that have very large cliffs, and they can range to 4,000m high. It is also covered by sand not found on Kerbin, because it is made from phosphoric compounds. Pol also has extremely low gravity due to its very small mass being an asteroid. It has the lowest amount of gravity in the Kerbol system defeating Gilly. The asteroid was caught by Jool in Version 0.18. Pol has a very inclined orbit, and it is the furthest body away from Jool following Bop. In orbit, pol is tidally locked with it's parent, Jool. As far as anyone knows, no one has found anything significance to Pol, except its Pollen grain like feature.

Trivia

  • Pol's namesake is likely derived from its uncanny resemblance to a grain of pollen.
