Science Jr. is a rocket which resembles what most players would build during early-mid career mode. It is a simple design able of reaching orbit and using the Science Jr.

Stages
The craft has five stages:
- Stage 5, which starts the engine and the two solid fuel boosters
- Stage 4, which decouples the solid fuel boosters from the liquid fuel core booster
- Stage 3, which separates the first and second stage
- Stage 2, which activates the second stage engine
- Stage 1, which decouples the command pod from the second stage
- Stage 0, which activates the parachute
Parts
The first stage (stage 5) is comprised of a LV-T45 "Swivel" Liquid Fuel Engine, two FL-T800 Fuel Tanks, two BACC "Thumper" Solid Fuel Boosters attached using TT-38K Radial Decouplers (activated by stage 4). The core liquid fuel booster has four radially attached Basic Fins.
The second stage (stage 3) is attached to the core booster using a TD-12 Decoupler, is powered by a LV-909 "Terrier" Liquid Fuel Engine, with a single FL-T800 Fuel Tank. There are radially attached to the second stage there are two OX-STAT Photovoltaic Panels, two Z-100 Rechargeable Battery Packs, two Mystery Goo™ Containment Units, and a SC-9001 Science Jr. placed on top of the fuel tank.
The command pod is attached to the second stage using a TD-12 Decoupler and is fitted with a Heat Shield (1.25m), two Communotron 16s, a PresMat Barometer, a 2HOT Thermometer, and a Mk16 Parachute.
