Usage
When Inflated, the airlock has 2 uses, one is to act as an extendable docking port, being able to mate with a Clamp-O-Tron Docking Port Jr. or another Inflatable Airlock; Its main use, however, is its ability to store a single kerbal and allow it to EVA from the airlock, which is especially useful when no other hatch is aviable. However, it is effectively a habitation module, so it provides no IVA nor command module capabilities, even if the kerbal inside it is a pilot. It does allow for crew transfer to or from other crewable parts.
Trivia
Real-world comparison
The Inflatable Airlock was inspired by the Voskhod 2 inflatable airlock. Due to its light weight and high heat tolerance, it is often used for low-mass missions.
