Product description

When trying to dock and that last small distance is just too far. This adaptor, with patented extend‘o’matic subsystems for extra portability, will fill the gap. Not to be used as an accordian.

When Inflated, the airlock has 2 uses, one is to act as an extendable docking port, being able to mate with a Clamp-O-Tron Docking Port Jr. or another Inflatable Airlock; Its main use, however, is its ability to store a single kerbal and allow it to EVA from the airlock, which is especially useful when no other hatch is aviable. However, it is effectively a habitation module, so it provides no IVA nor command module capabilities, even if the kerbal inside it is a pilot. It does allow for crew transfer to or from other crewable parts.

Real-world comparison

The Inflatable Airlock was inspired by the Voskhod 2 inflatable airlock. Due to its light weight and high heat tolerance, it is often used for low-mass missions.
