Advanced S.A.S Module/Box

The Inline Advanced Stabilizer is a toggleable module that provides SAS functionality, a sort of Autopilot to stabilize and help keep a rocket on course. It does this by acting as a PID controller for a craft's angular momentum. It contains reaction wheels to provide this torque.

Description

The inline reaction wheel system uses a series of spinning disc that are going "Very Fast", to generate the torque necessary to control a spacecraft. Comes complete with a built in flight computer. Please do not attempt to service this device while it is running.

Usage

The Inline Advanced Stabilizer does not have to be placed anywhere in particular to function, however it will cease to function if jettisoned. It uses controllable airfoils (like AV-R8 Winglet), RCS, gimbal engines, and command unit torque (rotForce) to control the ship's heading and rotation. You will need to add one or more these elements if you are planning to use Advanced S.A.S. Only one Advanced S.A.S is needed per ship.
