The Kerbodyne S3-7200 Tank is an extra large (3.75m) liquid fuel tank. It contains 36 t of liquid fuel/oxidizer mixture, which is 12.5% more compared to the Rockomax Jumbo-64 Fuel Tank (which contains 32 t).

It contains twice as much fuel as the Kerbodyne S3-3600 Tank, and half as much fuel as the Kerbodyne S3-14400 Tank.

Product description

Kerbodyne's signature heavy fuel tank. Designed to be used with their advanced rocket engines.

Usage

The S3-7200 acts as an intermediate sized liquid fuel tank, for fine tuning propellant amounts while staying with the size 3 parts. It can also be used with a 2.5m engine (such as the RE-I5 "Skipper" Liquid Fuel Engine) to provide moderate amounts of fuel for little part count.

When full, one tank can power a Kerbodyne KR-2L+ "Rhino" Liquid Fuel Engine for 60.0 seconds, or a S3 KS-25x4 "Mammoth" Liquid Fuel Engine for 27.8 seconds, while at full thrust.

The S3-3600, S3-7200, and S3-14400 all have the same radius, mass ratio, and cost ratio. This means that four stacked S3-3600 tanks are interchangeable with two stacked S3-700 tanks, which is itself interchangeable with one S3-14400 tank.

Trivia

  • The product description describes the Kerbodyne S3-7200 Tank as Kerbodyne's signature fuel tank. Prior to version 1.0, the Kerbodyne S3-14400 Tank was described as Kerbodyne's "signature" tank, and this description was used instead:
A half capacity version of Kerbodyne's iconic fuel tank.
