The TR-18D Stack Separator is a Separator that allows for staging rockets vertically and in sequence.
Usage
The TR-18D adds a stage to the rocket and when activated will release the separator as well as anything attached to it, much like the TR-2C. Unlike normal decouplers, separators come free from both sides, leaving the decoupler floating.
Product description
“ | Unlike Decouplers, Separators jettison everything attached to them. This new technology was very well received by rocket engineers everywhere. Not bad for something that started out as a failure for a controlled explosive bolt prototype. | ” |
