The PPD-10 Hitchhiker Storage Container (also HSC) is a crew storage container. It can hold 4 Kerbals, the most of any manned parts in the game, but unlike a command module it cannot be used to control a vehicle.
Usage
The Hitchhiker Storage Container is empty by default, but can be filled from within the assembly building using the crew tab.
The main uses of storage containers are:
- Crew quarters aboard space stations
- Rescuing stranded Kerbonauts and bringing them home
- Getting a large number of Kerbonauts to another moon or planet
Description
“ | The HSC was an invention of necessity - how do we store 4 Kerbals on-orbit without any real provisions for return? Who needed this remains a mystery, as do his motives. — Jebediah Kerman's Junkyard and Spaceship Parts Co. |
