Uses
The surface scanning module is used to improve scans on a certain planetary body after a player has already completed an orbital scan. The scanning module can narrow-down potential areas where a player can have improved ore mining output. Using it does not provide science points.
Notes
- When you first land in a new biome, the scanner will report the ore concentration as "(Unknown avg.)", and there will be a button to click, "Run Analysis".
- If the surface that you are scanning has zero ore, the scanner will report the ore concentration as "Unknown" (not zero).
- The Surface Scanning Module is the only device that will give you a continuous readout of your current biome, and your latitude and longitude.
