The Surface Scanning Module is a part introduced in version 1.0.

Uses

The surface scanning module is used to improve scans on a certain planetary body after a player has already completed an orbital scan. The scanning module can narrow-down potential areas where a player can have improved ore mining output.

Notes

If the surface that you are scanning has zero ore, the scanner will report the ore concentration as "Unknown".

Product description

A small module that includes soil, atmospheric, and oceanic sampling tools. When used while landed on a planet or moon, the sample data gathered can be used to increase the accuracy of orbital survey scanners.
