The HG-5 High Gain Antenna is a deployable antenna for the science transfer system. It was added in 1.2 as part of the Relay Network. It can act as short range relay. Unlike the Communotron 16 and the Communotron 16-S, this antenna does add mass and drag to your spacecraft.
