The Mk2 Liquid Fuel Fuselage is a Mk2 fuselage containing only liquid fuel.
It is twice the length and carries twice the fuel as the Mk2 Liquid Fuel Fuselage Short. The similar Mk2 Rocket Fuel Fuselage carries the same amount of propellant, but split between both liquid fuel and oxidizer.

Usage
The Mk2 Liquid Fuel Fuselage is a liquid fuel tank containing only liquid fuel. It can be used to power jet engines, like the J-X4 "Whiplash" Turbo Ramjet Engine. Due to its shape, it fits well on aircraft, and serves as an attachment point for wings, fins, and landing gear. It can be placed both in-line and radially mounted.
Like all Mk2 parts, it is slightly taller than a 1.25m, Mk1 part, while having about the same width as a 2.5m part. This wide shape allows it to act as a lifting surface, like a wing. However, it only carries the same volume of propellant as an equally long Mk1 part; the model shows that the inside is actually a Mk1 tank surrounded by the Mk2 shell. The dry mass of the Mk2 Liquid Fuel Fuselage is 14% higher than two Mk1 Liquid Fuel Fuselages, which contain the same amount of fuel.
Additionally, like all Mk2 parts, the Mk2 Liquid Fuel Fuselage has a higher heat tolerance of 2500K to assist in spaceplane reentry.
A pair of adjacent Mk2 parts rotated so that their flat faces are tangent make a smooth fuselage for larger aircraft.
Trivia
- The Mk2 Liquid Fuel Fuselage was originally developed for the C7 Spaceplane pack, and has become a stock part since version 0.15 and the introduction of the Spaceplane complex.
- Oddly, the Mk2 Liquid Fuel Fuselage is slightly lighter than two Mk2 Liquid Fuel Fuselage Short parts, despite having the same fuel capacity and size.
Changes
- New model and texture
- Dry mass increased from 0.25 t to 0.3 t, liquid fuel increased from 150 units to 160 units, cost increased from 550 to 750.
- Can no longer fuel traditional rocket engines on its own, as they now require oxidiser. However, no changes were made to this part itself.
- Underwent rebalance
- Initial stock release
