The RoveMax Model XL3 is a huge rover wheel used for construction of land-based vehicles.
Usage
Due to its gigantic size which dwarfs even large-diameter parts and its sub-par performance compared to the smaller RoveMax Model M1, there are few legitimate reasons for using this part. One use-case where this part can come in handy are mobile launch platforms used to transport a whole rocket from the Kerbal Space Center to a different launch location on Kerbin.
Unlike the other wheels, the RoveMax Model XL3 is not articulated and uses skid steering to change heading, allowing a vehicle to rotate in place.
In order to be able to turn the vehicle or drive around curves, its pod or probe core has to have its control point set to "forward".
While active, the RoveMax Model XL3 wheel drains 2 electric charge per second (7200 E/hr).
